Appropriate Assessment
(Habitats Directive [92/43/EEC])
As a part of the extensive highways and infrastructure works undertaken by TACP the Partnership have been commissioned to complete both the screening and inform an Appropriate Assessment as required by Regulation 48 of the Habitats Regulations 1994 which implement Article 6(3) of the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC). This requires defined measures to be taken to ensure that adequate protection is achieved for sites of European importance such as Special Areas of Conservation (SAC) and Special Protection Areas (SPA).
Stage One Appropriate Assessment Screening Statements and matrices have been developed for the A40 St Clears to Haverford west Route Selection Study and the A487 Glandyfi Improvement.
