TACP was commissioned as environmental co-ordinators for the project. TACP worked with Alfred McAlpine throughout the construction of the bridge to monitor the environmental measures put in place by the contractor to ensure the protection of the River Usk Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and Lower Usk Site of Special Scientifid Interest (SSSI).
The consultancy included monitoring of works affecting otters including training site staff to conduct weekly site checks of works area for evidence of use by otters.
