Client: Snowdonia National Park Authority
TACP was commissioned by Snowdonia National Park Authority to undertake the design and implementation of the internal and external interpretation at Plas Tan y Bwlch Study Centre as a part of the Heritage Lottery funded restoration and conservation of the house and gardens.
Five external panels were designed illustrating the development of the gardens and surrounding landscape at the Plas from their origins in the 16th century to the present day. Two further internal panels tracing the history of the Oakeley family and their wealth generated by the slate works and industry at Blaenau Ffestiniog were also designed and erected.
Further interpretation included sound boxes at strategic locations through the gardens explaining the wildlife and plant life to be discovered in the gardens, the production of a series of garden leaflets illustrating walks and points of interest and touch screen panels encouraging the visitor to discover more detailed information about the house and gardens and about the wider area.
